January 2026 - St Alban's Cathedral

Sampling the Abbot's door in St Alban's Cathedral - the original entrance for monks into the abbey from the cloisters, which some think belongs to the reign of Richard II (1377-99) and others think may be earlier. This work is funded by Historic England and supported by the Cathedral, and we look forward to analysing the cores in due course.
